News: Bradford Anderson's Last Hourrah?

Recently RavenBeauty took to her facebook page to report that Bradford will be given a major story then written out completely. As history has told us Raven does not usually name names unless she's absolutely sure.

Whoever wanted this information leaked, must have wanted it and done it for some reason.I guess we can try to ask Bradford himself, but you know that actors are always the last to know.

RavenBeauty had this to say:

"I am being told that Spinelli has a major story coming, and then he will be written out. Personally speaking, I adore Spinelli because he is so quirky, lovable, and unusual. Bradford Anderson is pure genus. They have taken away all his skills for a reason. He is being edged out for a reason (this will NOT be announced right away."

No word yet, if there will be a Spixie reunion beforehand.

News: ABC Announces The Revolution’s Premiere Date

The Chew premiered the Monday after All My Children’s finale and now ABC has announced that The Revolution will premiere on January 16, the Monday after One Life to Live’s finale on January 13.  According to Deadline, the show’s concept has been tweaked.

"It will still chronicle one woman’s personal journey over the course of five months, but its focus will now be on a team of experts including Ty Pennington, Tim Gunn, Harley Pasternak, Dr. Jennifer Ashton and Dr. Tiffanie Davis Henry giving viewers tips and tools to transform their lives."

News: The Return of Alicia Lee Willis?

Rumors abound that Alicia Lee Willis has reportedly been asked back to GH, this hasn't been confirmed. As to whether or not she's actually Courtney remains to be seen. Don't forget, the character of Courtney is the mother of a Cassadine heir. 

It's also rumored that Tyler Christopher may also be coming back for a short stint regarding this story.

News: Maurice Bernard on Going Back To Bensonhurst

 Thanksgiving may be over, but actor Maurice Benard still has something he’s thankful for: After 18 years playing mob boss Sonny Corinthos Jr. on General Hospital, the show’s writers still deliver new story lines that get him jazzed.

“I’m very excited about the stuff I’ve done in the last month, when Sonny and Kate [Kelly Sullivan] go to Bensonhurst,” says Benard of episodes that kick off today and deal with Sonny’s childhood abuse at the hands of his stepfather. “You know what it is? It’s kind of bringing back the Sonny that used to be. And I think it’s needed. I’m having a blast.”

The Sonny he’s talking about is the charming one, with “the little boy side, the vulnerable side,” he says. A Sonny that’s much different from the volatile, brooding character who’s been lurking around Port Charles. “From right now on, you will see a much lighter side [of Sonny],” he says. “Almost bringing out more of who I am.”

News: The Future of GH

ABC Daytime is just about over. They announced today that they’re writing out a major “General Hospital” character. Kimberly McCullough, 33, has been on the show on and off since 1985, starting as a child.McCullough’s character, Robin Scorpio, became infected with HIV in the late 1980s from her boyfriend. Now it seems “GH” will likely kill her off from AIDS–and this should make everyone everywhere pretty angry since AIDS deaths have been reduced greatly over the years. The Robin character was a symbol of hope.

McCullough joins Jonathan Jackson, another young actor with a long history on the show, heading for the exits. “General Hospital” is only weeks away from its cancellation notice, as it will be replaced by Katie Couric‘s talk show in September 2012. ABC has successfully destroyed its fifty year history of soaps in the afternoon, loyal viewers, and consistency. “All My Children” is gone. “One Life to Live,” which has had a big resurgence this year, ends on January 13, 2012.

News: Jason Thompson on Kimberley's Departure

Following the news of Kimberly McCullough's departure from General Hospital, ABC Soaps In Depth spoke with co-star Jason Thompson to get his thoughts. Thompson stated:

 "We've had five, six years with a great couple. Kimberly and I have had a blast. Is it going to be sad? Absolutely. No doubt about it. I'm going to be sadder than anybody."

News: Kimberley McCullough's Departure (Update)

Earlier this week ABC had comfirms many suspicions, that, our very own Kimberly McCullough (Robin) was leaving General Hospital.

Today, Kimberly took to Twitter to address her decision to leave, and to thank her fans for all their support.

"Thank you for your tweets. I have read all of them. I wish I had words for the type of gratitude I feel for all of your support for so many years. Personally, I feel like it's the right time for me to pursue my dream of directing episodic TV as well as writing and directing feature films. I am heartbroken as well. To leave Robin, a character that is a huge part of myself and my life. "GH" is my family and you (the fans) are like my extended family. I hope you will come with me along the journey. I've enjoyed getting to know so many of you. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have been able to make Nice Guys Finish Last, a film that ultimately gave me the courage to leave the nest and step behind the camera. In the coming months [Jason Thompson (Patrick)]and I will pour our heart and soul into the story that is given to us. I can promise you that much. Everything else is out of our control. I am sad too, but I intend to make the best of it. Again, thanks for the love and opinions and support. I appreciate it more than I can ever express. Stay tuned..."

Resident villan Sebastian Roche (Jerry) will be seen on the big screen next year.

Roche has snagged a role in the action thriller, “Safe House.” The film stars Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds as two men on the run after their safe house is attacked. Roche will be appearing as a German foreign intelligence agent.

Safe House is set to release in the summer of next year.

News: Kimberley McCullough's Departure

For months rumours have been going rampant about major GH actors leaving/getting fired. Last week we learned of Jonathan Jackson's demise, this week it has been comfirmed that Kimberley McCulough is exiting Port Charles.

In a role that she originated at the tender age of 7, playing the character from 1985 to 1996.She has continued to play the character off and on since then, with stints from 1997–1998, in 2000, 2004, and then she started to play a doctor in the show on October 12, 2005, a role which she has continued to play through to the present.

In a recent SOD interview a spokesperson confirmed: “Kimberly McCullough has decided to pursue her dream of directing full-time, so she has decided to leave GENERAL HOSPITAL

According to the rumour mill, Krys Meyer could very well be the new TJ; aka Shawn's son and/or nephew. (you never know with these soaps).

News: The Demise of Jonathan Jackson (Update)

The following is an update regarding the leaving of Jonathan Jackson. 



In an interview with TV Guide, Jonathan Jackson confirmed he will be leaving "General Hospital." His last air date as Lucky will be during the week of December 19. He cited physical and emotional exhaustion from all the tragedy and angst he's had to play - Jake's [James Nigbor] death, Luke's [Anthony Geary] downfall, Siobhan's [Erin Chambers] death, Lucky's addiction - as the reason for his departure.

Jackson explained that while he is thankful for being given so much work, "There was just no reprieve. I have a wife and three kids and other things in life I have to think about. I just knew I couldn't sustain the schedule at "GH" and that kind of emotion for much longer. It was just too intense."

News: Jax is Back

Ingo furthered previewed his return by tweeting:

"I have a great story on "GH" for about 3 weeks. I'll start shooting this December. I'll get u all air dates as we get closer. And hopefully "Jax" will be popping his head in periodically throughout 2012."

News: Nancy Lee Grahn's At It Again

Outspoken soap diva Nancy Lee Grahn set the Twitter world ablaze last night, by disclosing some shocking claims about former General Hospital scribe Bob Guza.

Grahn told fans the reason the Alexis and Sonny (Maurice Benard) pairing was split up was due to Guza.

Quote: Steve Burton on the Rape Storyline

Although neither the viewers nor the couple actually saw/recall what happened both Sam and Jason both assume that Franco raped Sam. For them, Steve Burton, in SOD, explains, "Until we find out otherwise it did happen and it becomes a huge divide between them right after they got married." Although they try to keep the incident to themselves, Spinelli is quick to notice that something is wrong with Sam.

Jason looses his temper in front of Sonny and becomes unhinged when Sonny questions him about Franco.  Burton, "his wife got raped and he blames himself"  There is a lot of anger, rage and sadness; he will be loosing it more. In SOW, Steve Burton says, "Jason's got one thing on his mind. He's determined to make sure that Franco doesn't get away with this."

News: Darkly Dreaming GH?

Jamey Giddens from Daytime Confidential claims that he has heard from sources that a very popular character on GH is going to revealed to be a serial killer. He says it is going to shock fans. He says they are trying to do a Dexter-type story as part of their last ditch effort to stay on air. He thinks it could put the final nail in GH's coffin or save the show. It sounds like they are going to be putting all of their eggs in one basket regarding the character. Someone very popular and someone fans would not suspect at all.

It was dropped recently that Garin Wolfe has something big planned that would start before the end of the year. Maybe this is it.

Did You Know?

You might already know this. But remember a few years back when Kelly Monaco won the very first Dancing with the Stars competition, and TPTB at GH wanted to cash in on her dancing ability. Hence the reason behind Guza creating the Sam/ Alicia Montenegro s/l.

It mainly revolved around Allegra Montenegro, who has set up a wedding between her Eurotrash daughter Alicia and a rich guy named Andrew, but Alicia refuses to cooperate.

The following are spoilers/rumours/news tidbits for GH. Please know that Long-term spoilers have a tendency of not being true, so please take it with a grain of salt and don't shoot the messenger!!

• Sam takes a pregnancy test at the hospital right after the attack as a precaution before taking a morning after pill. I do not see how there can be a WTD if she gets a positive test the morning after.

• Ewen was working in Ireland before coming to PC and I think there may be hints that someone he cared about died there. I have no idea if or how this connects to Siobhan or Lucky. I would imagine there is a connection, but I dont have any idea what it might be.

News: Kelly Monaco on The Talk

Kelly Monaco (Sam) will be on "The Talk" today, November 10. Actress Ellen Barkin will also stop by. "The Talk" airs on CBS at 2.00 PM EST.

News: Interview With GH HW Garin Wolf

Very little gets past Garin Wolf, the newest head writer for ABC's soon-to-be only soap opera, "General Hospital." After nearly a two-hour phone interview, he touches on the challenges of holding the daytime drama together, amping up favorite characters, introducing new ones and avoiding the speculation that the network may cancel the show after 48 years (word of its fate probably will be announced in 2012). Already ABC has a new Katie Couric talk show pegged for "GH's" long-time home -- 3 p.m. weekdays. "Katie" is slotted to debut in September of 2012. Meanwhile, ABC has the option of moving "GH" to another time period or getting rid of it altogether. Needless to say, he has a lot of his plate and many fans, and actors and crew members are depending on him to save the ship.

So far, his turn as head writer has been mixed by fans, but Wolf says he's just getting started. He has plans up his sleeve. For this first installment of this interview and what he plans to do, Wolf looks over the characters he has on the canvas and what he wants to do with them. He also teases about old favorites he'd like to see return.

Here are his thoughts on an array of characters:

Luke Spencer. "There's no filter. There's no facade. I love the character. He'll be dealing with his alcoholism but in a different way."

News: The Demise of Jonathan Jackson

A few months ago Raven Beaty told us that 2 major GH cast members would get the can by new years, and it seems like we havefound out who one of them might be.

Although not confirmed by the network, Soap Opera Digest is reporting that four-time Emmy winner, Jonathan Jackson will be leaving "General Hospital,"and will shoot his final scenes November 17. Jonathan returned to the ABC soap in 2009 after 12 years away from the role. 

A rep for the ABC soap says "we can neither confirm nor deny" that Jackson is out. Word from the set is that the beloved and acclaimed actor is exhausted from a heavy work schedule and months of a harrowing storylines that have included the death of Lucky's child and the character's addiction to drugs.

News: RE Lexi Ainsworth's Exit

Did you catch the last two episodes where Kristina was leaving for Yale?

When those scenes were played all the actors knew ahead of time she was let go and those tears were real tears of sadness. Lexi was completely kept in the dark as were some other actors about her dismissal. 

Apparently Lexi was deliberately told one thing, even so far as being given a 'soft' breakdown in advance of what would be playing out for her. 

Lexi's recast should be appearing around the New Year so we hear.

News: RE Garin Wolf's Demise

For some he was a breath of fresh air after a storm, for others not so much. Whatever your opinion of him is, it seems that Garin Wolf has been given his walking papers. Of course ABC has denied all rumurs as per usual.

Whether this is true or not, expect GH to get dark, VERY dark.

Before Christmas Franco sends a message congratulating "all of them" on the baby for Christmas. Kelly Monaco asked for a close set during these scenes so how it goes down I can't say. Look for Jason to go ballistic and yes it will be the end of Franco as Jason does kill him finally and these scenes were also closed set and I hear both were very intense. 

Get ready for a shocker coming to a TV near you, it involves a past tragedy and will be inserted into a present storyline.

News: Steve Harvey to Take GH Timeslot.

Unfortunetely kids, its seems like the worst is happening right before our eyes.

Orlando, Florida's Channel 9 (WFTV) is giving General Hospital's time slot away to Steve Harvey's talk show in the fall of 2012.

Elsewhere, ABC has given an hour of programming back to affiliates in exchange for them agreeing to air Katie Couric's talk show. ABC  Disney/ABC says “Katie” is sold to 60 percent of the country. Obviously that 60 percent does not include soap opera fans.

Spoilers: Aiden Spencer's Accident

 ***The following is a rant please ignore if already pissed off. You've been warned.***

So okay, its bad enough that TPTB ruined the life of one child in a car accident involving Luke. Now next next week (week of Nov 14), accoring to the spoilers Luke will get into a car accident with Aiden in the back seat.

Aiden will be covered in bruises, and have to be diagnosed by Dr. Maggie (it really bugs me that she doesn't have a last name), to have an ailment close to what baby Lulu had. Which was aplastic anemia. No word yet on what the name of his disease will be.

 Am I the only one that's extremely pissed off that GH is either killing babies, making them sick, terminally ill, or shipping them to return slutier that ever?

*takes deep breath*

Her namesake may be popping up at Yale but Jaime Ray Newman (ex-Kristina) is on her way to Primetime to tangle with “NCIS.”

Newman will be playing Melanie Burke, a Navy Lieutenant Commander and chaplain at the Navy Yard. She helps the show’s team investigates a military plane crash.
She'll be appearing in a two-episode arc beginning November 8.

News: Jason Cook

Jason Cook (Matt) recently announced on Twitter that he will be hosting the Miss World competition held in London. 

Miss World began in 1951 as part of the Festival of Britain celebrations and is considered the oldest surviving major international beauty pageant. While the winner typically lives in London during her reign, she spends a year traveling to represent the organization and its causes.  

The Miss World competition airs on Sunday November 6 on E!

The following are spoilers, rumours, news, form DD lounge. Most of these spoilers are for the new year. As usual, these are not written in stone and may change without warning. Nonetheless, enjoy: 

Sonny/Kate: If you are tired of the last 20 years of “The Sonny Show”, fear not! It’s not as if PC’s favorite mob boss is moving to the backburner, but he won’t be as front and center anymore, either. And we may see a lighter side of Sonny - well, as light as a mob boss can be, anyway.

-Skate will move slowly but surely towards couple-dom again, but it’s going to be a bumpy ride. One reason: Kristina. Her return – and new attitude – will give Sonny a few gray hairs, while Kate is going to get a crash course on being a stepmommy.

-Kate is hiding a BIG, BIG secret from her new/old love, but is it the fact that Sonny has, yet again, another child out there somewhere? Not necessarily. But Kate’s secret WILL have huge ramifications for Sonny, and for Skate.

The Future of GH: Updated as of November 2, 2011

With "The Chew" tanking, ABC seems to be flip-flopping as to whether or not to keep GH on the air and to go ahead with plans for "The Revolution". It could be that GH will stay on our screens but simply be bumped back to a new timeslot.

Brian Frons is in the hot seat with ABC because "The Chew" is not delivering as he said it would. Rumor is, this is make it or break it time for the ABC President, and if he isn't careful, he may find himself out of a job.
